How it Works
Air-to-water heat pumps pull heat from the outside air and transfers it to the water to heat it which then moves throughout your space to heat it. Here is the process broken down:
- Extract: The pump extracts heat from the outside air into the system.
- Absorb: The heat must be absorbed into a refrigerant.
- Compress: The system compresses the refrigerant the hot air was absorbed into to increase its temperature.
- Exchange: The heated refrigerant is passed through an exchanger in the system to perform the transfer of heat from refrigerant to water.
- Distribute: The heated water is circulated throughout your space via its heating system (I.e., radiator, floor vents).
- Cool and Expand: Before the refrigerant can absorb more heat, it must first cool, which allows it to expand, and the cycle starts again.
Air-to-water heat pumps use a more efficient process to heat your commercial space by moving heat rather than generating it. More efficiency means the heating solution is cost-effective with the added benefit of being eco-friendly.
The benefits of an air-to-water heat pump system include:
- Eco-conscious heating solution
- Efficient and cost effective method for heating your home
- Hearty lifespan of up to 20 years
