How Do Ductless Heat Pump Systems Work?
Ductless mini-split heat pumps consist of two units: an outdoor unit which is 1/3 the size of traditional heat pumps and an indoor unit which is the air handler. Some models are capable of utilizing up to four different air handlers. This allows for zones to be separately controlled in the home. This is much more energy efficient since it can limit the amount of energy that is used for heating and cooling by allowing you to condition zones in the home that are actually in use.
Both ductless heat pumps and ductless mini-splits provide you comfort all year round, allowing you to have control over the temperature for individual rooms. They are an excellent choice for “add-on” spaces in a home or building.
